Tender description

The procurement is for a single Principal Contractor to design, supply, install and commission of new sports pitch lighting for Pitches 1 & 8 including the removal of the existing installation at Ulster University’s Jordanstown Campus. The Principal Contractor Shall also appoint a Principal Designer and manage the appropriate construction and design teams required for the delivery of the contract. The following factors should be taken into consideration by the designer; social, economic and environmental sustainability as well as the life cycle of the materials and components selected and their associated sustainability criteria. The sports lighting will be required to provide illumination for play and spectators, designed to take into consideration the principle area and total area of the pitches as per the design requirements of BS EN 12193 :2018. The Scheme shall be demonstrate a payback period based on running and maintenance costs, demonstrate a significant energy and carbon reduction on the operational energy and evaluated over the whole life cost of the project. This shall be to align with the universities sustainability policies.
