CPQ2328-22 Wellbeing Support for Ethnically Diverse Staff

In 2020 Devon County Council (DCC) conducted a Race Equality Audit. The findings of that audit are published online. A key finding was the level of racism our staff experienced in the course of their work, whether this is from colleagues or the people they were serving. In addition, when staff raise issues, they do not always feel safe or supported. Following the audit, a Race Equality Staff Group was established, and staff continue to share their experiences in the workplace. We recognise the process of sharing experiences needs to be managed with care to ensure people feel supported and empowered. The aim of this Contract is to introduce an offer of a ‘safe space’ wellbeing, recovering and resilience programme for staff who identify as Asian, Black or from other ethnically diverse backgrounds / staff who have experienced racism, whether in the community or the workplace.
