Tender description

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (the “CRU”), with the consent of the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, directed EirGrid under Regulation 28(10) of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015, in its capacity as the Transmission System Operator, to secure the delivery of c. 450MW of emergency temporary generation. In fulfilment of that direction, EirGrid, through a wholly owned special purpose vehicle (EirGrid SPV 2022 Designated Activity Company) has procured from the market electricity generation plant for the purpose of subsequent transfer of that plant to one or more electricity generators in accordance with the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022.
