Contractor support to implement and refine automated/manual processes to create a fully connected river network for the Republic of Ireland

Tender description

The EPA Catchments Unit is tendering for contractor support to implement and refine existing automated and manual processes to create a fully connected river network for Ireland. This will enhance the modelling and assessment capabilities of the EPA for water and other environmental domains and will be used by other external stakeholders. It will build on recent developments like the National Land Cover map and use of the Ordinance Survey’s PRIME2 datasets for mapping. A pilot has already been completed for the Suir Catchment (Hydrometric Area 16) which included the generation of an associated geometric network. An additional contractor resource is now being sought to roll out the Waterline Pilot project nationally for the remaining 45 catchments. The work is being divided into two lots: • Lot 1: Manage, develop and maintain an online GIS editing portal • Lot 2: Rollout of the fully connected Waterline network in all catchments The EPA would welcome tenders that bid for both lots and can demonstrate innovative and/or more cost-effective solutions to delivering the work for both Lots 1 and 2 as outlined in this tender.
