Screen Ireland’s ambition is for the Irish screen industry to be a global leader in sustainability. In our Sustainability Plan, launched in 2021, we set out the actions we would take within our own operations and how we would support and enable the wider screen industry to become more sustainable. A key commitment in our Sustainability Plan was to get a clear understanding of the current environmental impact of the Irish screen industry, by conducting an industry-wide carbon footprinting exercise. Through this exercise, we want to get a baseline measure of what the sector’s carbon emissions are today, and set ambitious reduction targets for the future, with the overall aim of being net-zero carbon by 2050. We are seeking the support of an expert consultant/consultancy with the relevant skills and experience to carry out this footprinting exercise and develop a decarbonisation roadmap for the Irish Screen Industry.
