Thriving Communities Research: Understanding the Civic Core

This is the first in a series of research projects on the civic core. This phase of the research will focus on increasing our understanding of the leaders and paid workforce within VCSE organisations - as we consider these to be the principal decision-makers within the civic core. We intend to expand our focus to other groups in future work. In particular, the research will clarify what type of language these individuals use to describe the civic core. It will also explore the attributes and skillsets - such as social networks, educational experience or training - that underpin the success of their projects and the enablers and barriers that impact their work.
