South Yorkshire service for women receiving a caution with conditions

This is a request for information only. This request for information is made on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire. The Police & Crime Commissioner is looking to commission a specialised service for women diverted from the formal Criminal Justice System and receiving a conditional caution (or new caution with conditions under the new Adult Out of Court Disposal Framework) is expected to be required in late 2023, embracing the concept of: • Assessing women’s needs and addressing the root causes of their offending. • Providing holistic and ongoing support to women (during and beyond the initial compulsory requirements of the caution) to prevent/reduce reoffending. • Improving outcomes and life chances of women who enter the service and those of their children and families • Reducing the number of women who enter the criminal justice system • Ensuring the condition(s) of the caution are met We are issuing this Request for Information for the purpose of establishing how many organisations may be interested in providing a specialist service for women who have received a conditional caution or other caution with conditions, market input on services options. For clarity, this process is currently in the development stages and Commissioners wish to gauge interest from potential suppliers – this does not constitute a formal Expression of Interest or Tender process.
