Delivery Requirement: Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) – England, courses delivered face to face to 3 cohorts of 16 participants. 2 cohorts of the 1-day Mental Health Champion Course 1 cohort of the 2-day Mental Health First Aider Training Course We wish to hear from providers who have the ability to deliver this training at Sheffield City Council Redtape Training Centre( S1 4SP) training centre. All recruitment of individuals for these training courses will be done by the Sheffield Advance SCR team. Course Specification requirement The learning outcomes for the 1 Day Mental Health Champion course will include: • An understanding of common mental health issues • Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness. • Ability to spot signs of mental ill health • Skills to support positive wellbeing for yourself and others The learning outcomes for the 2 Day Mental Health First Aider course will include: • An in-depth understanding of people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues • Confidence to reassure and support a person in distress • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non- judgemental listening • Knowledge to help a person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate • Ability to support a person with a long-term mental health issue or disability to thrive • Tools to look after your own wellbeing
