Tender description

HIAL have a requirement for refurbishment of airfield ground lighting (AGL) at Inverness and Kirkwall airports. This Request for Information (RFI) seeks feedback on: - Supply market capability and innovation; - Supply market capacity; - Supply market experience of providing similar equipment/projects; - Indicative costs for potential solutions; and - Supply chain management measures. Suppliers are invited to complete and return the attached RFI form by the date shown. Lot 1: Refurbishment of airfield ground lighting (AGL) at Inverness Airport Inverness airport is planning to replace their AGL system as it is approaching the end of it's operational lifespan. HIAL airports are operated in accordance with the regulatory standards of statutory bodies including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Department for Transport (DfT), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). HIAL is investigating potential alternative technical solutions that meet compliance requirements but that may also reduce the total lifetime cost of the new AGL system i.e. capital installation cost plus ongoing maintenance and operational costs. Alternatives such as changing from a high voltage to a low voltage system, or technologies that move away from the traditional jointed HV/LV cable systems and transformers may reduce opportunities for water ingress into the AGL system may result in whole life cost savings. Emissions reduction targets also necessitate lower energy consumption and the potential to consider future local renewable energy supply options. Lot 2: Refurbishment of airfield ground lighting (AGL) at Kirkwall Airport Kirkwall airport is planning to replace their AGL system as it is approaching the end of it's operational lifespan.
