The HRB is Ireland’s lead public funding agency supporting innovative health research and delivering data and evidence that improves people’s health and patient care. We are committed to putting people first, and ensuring data and evidence are used in policy and practice to overcome health challenges, advance health systems, and benefit society and the economy. Our statutory remit includes promoting the outcomes and outputs of the evidence we generate and the research that we fund. Media monitoring is the most effective way of measuring whether our communications and media campaigns are well targeted and confirming that our communications are reaching the right audience. We also have a responsibility to maintain our reputation as a premier funder of health research and a reputable and trusted provider of strong evidence for policy and practice. Should there be any negative commentary or coverage, it is essential that we are aware of it quickly so that we can act prudently to maintain our integrity.
