Summary of the work The specialist will be an experienced digital project manager capable of working in a matrix environment to understand user needs, and work collaboratively to design clear and concise delivery plans. They will lead small groups of specialists drawn from the team in support of this aim Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 6 months with an optional extension period of up to 2 months Latest start date Wednesday 3 April 2024 Maximum Day Rate Up to £550 ex VAT per day. Standard 8 hour working day, includes expenses to base location agreed with DWP . This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with stakeholders across Technology Services including Product Owners and Delivery teams and within a team alongside Portfolio Managers, Delivery Managers and Digital Engagement Managers. They will also work alongside other 3rd party suppliers engaged in delivering Service Now development work. What Specialists Work On This DPM will have Delivery Management expertise, working with a multidisciplined team, engaging across Technical Product and Delivery teams to understand requirements, manage stakeholders and develop plans. Progress reporting will also be required to a wide range of stakeholders. It would be beneficial if there was some knowledge Service Now, but it is not essential. Skills & Experience • Demonstrate experience in managing a Digital Delivery • Experience of working in a large scale organisation • Experience of managing Digital Delivery in an Agile working environment • Ability to plan sprints and undertake Milestone Planning . Remove blockers from sprints allowing completion of stories assigned/escalate ensuring delivery is completed to expected standards and within timescales • Experience of managing Risks, issues and dependencies. • Experience of stakeholder engagement, managing expectations, ensuring updated with progress, risks and issues. • Providing support and guidance to team members in looking for solutions to issues impacting delivery. • Experience of deploying End User Computing solutions • Experience of deploying Microsoft products, Cloud Hosting solutions Nice to Haves Knowledge of delivery of enterprise-wide Microsoft products, End User Computing and Service Now. Work Location Primarily at the DWP Digital Corporate Hub at 2 St Peters Square, Manchester. There may be occasional need to travel to other DWP hubs (e.g. Newcastle / Leeds / Blackpool) for workshops / user engagement Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week . Attendance on site will be 40% of the specialist's time in accordance with DWP's Hybrid working policy. The remainder of the specialist's time will be working remotely .
