Tender description
The School of Medicine is one of five schools within the College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork and has a rich tradition of teaching, research and scholarship. We provide doctors, radiographers, radiation therapists, anatomists and medical scientists of the future with a world class, student-centred and evidence-based medical education, informed by societal needs. Central to this is early patient contact and excellent bedside teaching by experienced clinicians. Brookfield Health Sciences Complex and the ASSERT centre for medical simulation is a modern purpose-built building. The Physiology Department and the FLAME Anatomy lab are located in the nearby Western Gateway Complex. University College Cork School of Medicine is contracted by National Doctor Training and Planning, Health Service Executive to coordinate academic and training for medical interns appointed to South Intern Network. Accredited Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support training is a mandatory element of medical intern training in Ireland. The aim of the training is to provide incoming medical interns with the necessary accredited training and certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support as mandated by Health Service Executive as a requirement of medical intern training. This training must facilitate up to 160 students with training sessions broken down to smaller group sizes. It is anticipated that the actual number will be in the region of 160 students for 2023. This number is approximate and not guaranteed. 2023 ACLS Training must be fully completed before the second week of July 2023 for all attendees. All groups should be facilitated for training in the week of June 30th – July 7th. The course per group should have a duration of no longer than 2 days.
