<p>Bolton Council is giving notice that they intend to commission a new Community Tobacco Control Service in May 2023. The commissioners are looking to gather some initial information and feedback from potential providers as part of work to explore ways to offer an innovative service that supports smokers to quit and also raises the knowledge and skills of other sectors to recognise the harm caused by the Tobacco Industry.</p> <p>The service provider will be asked to work closely with Public Health commissioners on transformational elements of delivery with a focus on strong partnership working.</p> <p>There are elements of delivery we would like some initial feedback on to help inform the specification:</p> <p> • Question 1 – Are there opportunities for delivering innovative stop smoking support including in-person and virtual support environments.</p> <p>• Question 2 – What is the viability and efficacy of different models of prescribing NRT, pharmacology and vape products?</p> <p>• Question 3 – Can you offer successful models of partnership engagement that span several sectors, including the hospital CURE programme, children’s services and illicit trade enforcement?</p> <p>Please note, this notice is for the purpose of conducting a soft market testing exercise and participation will not be taken into account during the formal tendering process.</p> <p>No formal criteria will be used to judge the responses and it is not our intention to provide any feedback to individual providers.</p> <p>The main themes of any responses will be published on the NW CHEST, no comments will be attributed to individual organisations.</p> <p>Please send your responses to the above question to: <strong>commissioning@bolton.gov.uk</strong> using the subject “Community Tobacco Control Service” by <strong>16:00, Tuesday 21 March 2023.</strong></p> Keywords: stop smoking, Tobacco, smoking, Control, Public Health
