Mechanical testing of hackney carriages and private hire vehicles licensed by South Norfolk Council

Tender description

South Norfolk Council requires suppliers to provide mechanical and fitness testing of licensed hackney carriages and private hire vehicles in accordance with the requirements of the South Norfolk Council hackney carriage and private hire vehicle compliance testing standard and the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) MOT testing guide. Currently there are approximately 250 vehicles which will require an annual or six-monthly test and a re-test if the vehicle fails the initial inspection. There may also be additional inspections of vehicles if they have been issued with either a deferred or immediate unfit vehicle notice. Please note that in accordance with the Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1976 the DVSA test centre must be located in the South Norfolk Council district area.
