SMT- Child to Parent Violence Respite Programme

<p>This new programme would work with both the children and parents/carers. The sessions will be mixed so run separately and alongside each other on the same time/days or run together with both parents/carers and young people. The children&rsquo;s sessions would be activity based but also include areas of therapeutic work to help children address their feelings and emotions. Qualified and experienced staff with experience of the activity will lead the session supported by staff focusing on therapeutic work. The programme aims to help disabled children and young people and parents/carers understand the cause of behaviours and deal with feelings and those behaviours, by a therapeutic approach alongside taking part in enriching activities.</p> Keywords: children, feelings and emotions
