Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) Satellite Navigation

<p>Kent Fire &amp; Rescue Service (KFRS) are undertaking a market engagement exercise to help understand potential solutions available in the market in relation to satellite navigations systems. This forms part of a wider project to replace our Mobile Data Terminals (MDT) and our satnavs in our frontline vehicles. The MDT hardware replacement stage of the project is complete, and we are now looking at the Satnavs stage and how these can interface with the MDT. Currently the satnavs we have do not interface with the MDT, and the driver needs to manually input the incident location. As part of the project we would like to be able to set destination points in the satnav via USB or serial cable from a windows device (MDT), with API&rsquo;s which we can have control over. We would like to know if there are any products that would facilitate this capability.</p> <p>This market engagement activity will inform a tender process, the timetable for which is not yet defined, but suppliers responding to this market engagement exercise will be kept up to date as plans for tendering progress.
