<p>Wigan Council are delivering FREE procurement training sessions for businesses, training will be delivered in person. There are a couple of spaces available: Date: Thursday 3rd March 9am till 4.30pm &ndash; 1 space available Date: Friday 4th March 9am till 4.30pm &ndash; 5 spaces available The training will cover the following: &bull; Understand the regulations surrounding local-council procurement in England. &bull; Build capability in writing high-quality bids that attract the attention of the Council and which score highly during bid evaluation. &bull; Introduce the concepts of social value and community wealth building: why these are important and how to include them in bids. &bull; Future changes in the regulations, driven by Brexit &bull; Relevant monetary thresholds and how they drive the purchasing decisions of the Council. &bull; Know how to find tender advertisements for prospective contracts and know what to do when you have found them. &bull; Understand why the lowest price bid is not necessarily the winning bid &ndash;Value for Money explained.
