Provision of Security System Solution to University College Dublin

Tender description

As a sounding exercise to obtain information in relation to the supply, installation and support of a new Video Management System and support of other security management systems under a single operator framework with a focus on integration of existing and new systems. Lot 1: UCD Estate Services plans to upgrade a number of Video Management (CCTV) Systems (VMS) that are at or approaching end-of-life into a single VMS of approximately 700 cameras with the capacity to grow by 10-25% over the life cycle of the VMS. It is also intended to put in place a single operator support contract for the support of this VMS and other systems that fall under the umbrella of the Estate Services Security Management Systems (SMS) portfolio. These are primarily access control, intruder alarm and handheld communication systems as well as the VMS, and other systems listed further below. The support contract would also cover the installation of new systems that fall under the SMS portfolio. Estate Services is seeking to integrate these SMS as much as possible through a combination of consolidation of systems via upgrade and replacement as well as implementation of seamless interoperability via the use of Software Development Kits (SDKs) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The overarching ambition arising from this process is to maintain a safe university estate and continually improve the security services that Estate Services provides to the university community. To facilitate Estate Services in delivering on these objectives, we wish to gain a better understanding of the SMS market to determine if the market can provide a single contractor with the competencies and experience to supply, install, support, develop and consolidate/integrate SMS in the UCD context.
