Provision of an Online Newspaper Database

Tender description

We wish to provide an online newspaper database for our library staff and customers. As we require our customers to be able to use the database remotely from outside the library, access must be provided via a valid Sheffield Libraries Library card. We will provide the range of numbers to you. We require the database to provide access to a range of Local, Regional, National and International Newspapers. It should include Daily and Weekly editions, including local to South Yorkshire. We require access to a range of business newspapers to complement our Business and Intellectual Property Centre. A variety of newspapers in other languages that reflect the Sheffield community, should be available. (For example Daily Jang, Al cuds al Arabi) It must include not only the current copies but also access to the back catalogue. The full content of the newspaper should be available, including photographs, advertisements, reader’s letters and notices. The database should be fully searchable, with a range of easy search options. A full list of the titles included should be available, with the ability to search and filter to exclude/include language, country of origin, frequency, subject matter and other factors. Access to and moving around within the database should be simple and easy with intuitive options for both staff and customers. An option to print selected articles should be available. Training in the use of the database must be available for staff, both at the start and during the contract. This should be in person as well as online ( so long as health regulations allow) User guides, and hints for successful searching must also be available for customers. We are looking for 3 pricing variants a one year contract, a 2 year contract and a 3 year contract. Additional information available in the attached RFQ
