HRB 2022 Website evolution project manager

Tender description

The Health Research Board (HRB) is a statutory agency under the aegis of the Department of Health. As the lead agency in Ireland responsible for supporting and funding health research, generating health information and promoting the use of evidence in policy and practice, we are motivated and inspired by our vision – for better health through excellent research, data and evidence. The HRB’s mission is to support research that improves people's health, promotes evidence-informed care and creates solutions to societal challenges. A new content management system (CMS), or the ‘back end’ of a website (the software application where website content is produced and edited) is required for the HRB because the current system (Typo3) is moving towards obsoletion. As a result, a new CMS and associated website support is urgently needed. This urgency is all the more pressing because our tender for web development and support will lapse this year and the current supplier says they do not plan to support Typo3 going forward. While a new CMS is the main change here, it also brings opportunity to modernise and improve the ‘front end’ of our website, i.e., the interface our users browse. This change of CMS requires the current website to remain live until the new CMS and corresponding front end changes are ready to go live. This means we will be running the current website in parallel with building a new one. This is complex, labour intensive, and requires a huge amount of specific expertise, so the HRB require an experienced project manager with CMS experience to deliver this project, with the support of the internal web master and a cross organisational team. The HRB invites tenders for the provision of Project management services in website evolution for a period of up to twelve-months commencing in April 22.
