Qualifax which is a comprehensive information source for potential learners containing details of more than 16,000 courses in further and higher education and training, full and part time private and public provider institutions, a calendar of events and a wide range of other guidance/advisory information features and tools (interest assessment & subjects requirement modules). In addition to course information the site also contains comprehensive links and information / guidance items on topics of relevance to students, parents, jobseekers, graduates and anyone seeking an education and training opportunity in Ireland. This includes funding, CAO processes, student life, and many more items. Searchable menus are features where an individual can browse options and save their search results. There is also a facility to ‘Tag’ courses and ‘Compare’ up to three courses; a subject choice module (Minimum Subjects Requirements tool), a points calculator, an interest assessment test and a Calendar of Events. The current website format requires updating in terms of its style, branding, design, and functionality, for users and for staff who support the site. Other improvements of the user experience in relation to accessibility, search, navigation, and general experience are also required. The site is content heavy and the content management system in place is unwieldy and not intuitive for Qualifax/QQI staff to use for annual updating.
