<p>Wigan Council are seeking a placement for a 16 year old female CQC registered mental health services. C is ready to be discharged from a T4 bed. Her current presentation can be understood in the context of trauma and adverse childhood experiences. She has experienced abandonment from her biological mother, who left the family home and therefore left her and her siblings in the sole care of their father. Evidence suggests that her father was unable to adequately meet her needs and there have been concerns around neglect, domestic abuse and alcohol misuse. Prior to her going into care a substantial support package was put into place at home. She requires a therapeutic placement setting that will support her through her emotions and offer stability and consistency that she requires. She will need a period of transition as it is evident that she struggles to form trusting attachments. It is likely that there will be a period of increased risk when she transitions to somewhere new and this can be in the context of her trying to gage responses and understanding whether those caring for her both understand and can manage her needs in a safe and containing way. It will be important that any future placement is able to understand and safely manage her self-harming behaviours to avoid further premature placement endings.
