Tender description
Contract 9P3F-GK2DQP was extended via a modification to expire 10/01/22. A direct award to the following providers for a further 6 month period on the same terms and conditions is required because the current contract expired on 10-01-2022 and there is a need to extend contracts for a period of just over 6-months until 30-06-2022. The current arrangements will need to continue to the incumbent providers to ensure the Council can meet its statutory duties and service users are not left without support in the interim. Lot 1 – Adult Carers Service (18+) – Local Solutions Lot 2 – Young Carers Service (up to and including 25 years of age) – Barnardo’s Lot 3 - Carers Advocacy Service – The Brain Charity Lot 4 – Carers Health and Wellbeing Service- Local Solutions. The investment will be made from within existing Adult Social Care resources. These services aim to achieve numerous strategic benefits: • Support the Council to fulfil its statutory duties in respect of carers’ under the Care Act 2014 and Children and Families Act 2014 • Underpin a comprehensive assessment and support planning care pathway for all carers • Embed a whole family approach to assessment • Provide support for carer’s that promotes health and well-being and prevents or delays need for care and support • Provide information and advice for all carers • Promote diversity and quality in provision of carer’s services Furthermore, evidence demonstrates that increasing support for carers can not only improve outcomes for them but also recipients of care through a reduction in unplanned admissions, readmissions and delayed discharges in hospital settings and reduced unwanted residential care admissions and lengths of stays. Additional capacity has been secured to ensure a timely procurement process. Spending Freeze Panel and Cabinet via report ASC/37/21.. Caroline Moss, Senior Category Manager has requested (in attached email) submission of exemption request advising “ I’m aware this is part of the wider Cabinet report that is being prepared in terms of approvals but the exemption needs to be physically submitted via the online system as soon as you can so it can be progressed via Heads of Finance group pending final approval of the cabinet report.”
