LCC has for a number of years used Halton Council’s framework agreement to commission Career Connect to deliver specialist IAG services to the NEET cohort • The existing arrangements expire on 31 March 2022 • We have notified Halton that we no longer want to be part of any future shared agreement because we are seeking different activity going forwards, some of which will be commissioned • A Cabinet report is being prepared and ongoing advice being taken from legal services • An exemption is needed for us to extend the existing ‘specialist’ arrangements with Career Connect , whilst we seek approvals and procure new activity – likely for up to 4 months • Halton Council had been requested to extend the existing contract for us for a short period, they are unable to do this • Exemption would be for a short form contract based on provision and cost detailed in the existing HBC contract at £up to £42,645.25 per month
