Tender description
Surface Finish (SF) Capability for Aircraft, Airfield Support Equipment (ASE) and Station Related Tasks Object of the Request for Information and Purpose: The Contracting Authority is looking to understand methodologies that would update and improve current delivery of the Surface Finish (SF) capability for Aircraft, Airfield Support Equipment (ASE) and Station related tasks. The Contracting Authority is keen to understand the capability and market interest for this defence support activity to inform future experimentation and procurement activities. Short Description of the Requirement: The UK MoD has a regulatory obligation to deliver safe and airworthy Air Systems for training and operations, both in the UK and overseas. The provision of an effective SF capability supports effective operational employment (through camouflage and markings) and airworthiness through the application of adequate corrosion protection. Alongside this, the MoD must ensure that the required numbers of serviceable Air Systems and ASE are available to support operational output. An efficient, effective, and reliable SF capability supports these availability/capability requirements by reducing maintenance turn-round times. This is achieved by reducing the likelihood of early equipment/component failure and improving mission survivability, maintaining surface finishes to a standard which ensures both high conspicuity for training aircraft, and low conspicuity (camouflaged) for aircraft and ASE undertaking operations. Further information & engagement will be available at a future Market Interest / Industry Day In particular, the contracting authority would appreciate: Expressions of interest in this support capability? Interest in invite to a Market Interest / Industry day? Potential suppliers to comment on the development of options in this phase of the project, including ROM costs, proposing?
