Purchase of Pre-Owned appliances

The objective of this Voluntary Ex Ante Transparency (VEAT) notice is to inform the market of Dublin City Council’s intention to enter into a contract with Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service in accordance with [e.g.] Article 32.2(b) where the works, supplies or services can be supplied only by a particular economic operator for any of the following reasons (ii) competition is absent for technical reasons.This is also a Contract Award Notice for the supply. Over the next two to three year’s DFB will need to replace 9 frontline vehicles “Dennis Fire engines”. The manufacture of a new appliance (Fire Engine) is 18 months and whilst we have four engines on order and due for delivery December 2022 there is a requirement in the interim to purchase Pre-Owned vehicles in order to replace the existing Dennis Fire engines. DFB were recently informed by our parts provider that “Dennis Bros.” are no longer making parts for these engine models. Unfortunately this unexpected situation has prompted the need to make an urgent purchase of 2 Pre-Owned Fire appliances and a mini bus, which has have become available as a package. These purchases are required in order to continue to maintain our fleet and ensure as an organization DFB are able to fulfil the statutory obligations under the Fire Services Act 1985.
