Mini Competition Invitation to Tender - Information and Advice for Older People and People with Dementia - PRF 1071

Tender description

Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council each commissioned an Information and Advice Service following phase 1 of the Care Act 2014 which encouraged local authorities to look in detail at their offer to residents and how they were providing information and advice prior to the Act coming into force. The Care Act 2014 then established local authorities' duties in relation to assessing people's needs and their eligibility for publicly funded care and support. The Care Act 2014 makes it clear that local authorities must provide or arrange services that help prevent people developing needs for care and support or delay people deteriorating such that they would need ongoing care and support . This is enshrined in The Care Act 2014 where there are eight elements listed as contributing to a person's wellbeing and all of which can be assisted through an appropriate information and advice service. The current services are respected by all stakeholders and have been a crucial part of the early intervention and prevention offer supporting older people with free, impartial information and advice with support to access initial and longer-term preventative services. The provision is also valued as a key element on the delivery on the early intervention and prevention agenda by reducing, preventing or delaying the point at which people need long term care and support. The current service is primarily for older people but if required will support adults from the age of 55 in exceptional circumstances. As part of the Pseudo DPS we are issuing this mini competition invitation to tender to all suppliers on Lot 2.
