Summary of the work The specialist will need to be an experienced project manager with a background working with 3rd party suppliers and managing the migration of operational data. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length Initially 12 months with an optional extension period of up to 3 months. Latest start date Friday 1 April 2022 Maximum Day Rate Up to £650 ex VAT per day and includes expenses to base location. This role is inside IR35. Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will join an existing DWP team of Digital and Change Programme delivery managers and will lead the end-to-end delivery projects relating to data migration. What Specialists Work On As part of a major programme to provide 5 health assessment suppliers with a managed IT service which includes DWP provided networks, end user devices (laptops & peripherals), software and local printing, as well as an externally procured case management service, the department is looking for a project manager with experience of overseeing & managing the migration of operational data by 3rd party organisations. The programme will run to August 2023 and successful candidates will join an experienced team of Digital and Change Programme delivery managers. Skills & Experience • Provide experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Public Sector managing IT projects and successfully deploying hardware and software to internal and 3rd party organisations. • Demonstrate 5+ years of experience managing projects where data migration is a key deliverable. • Experience of successful delivery through suppliers. • Experience of working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team and leading key aspects of a programme. • Manage plans, risks, issues and dependencies with effective escalation where necessary, owning them until they are resolved. • Track and manage project progress of data migration strand, providing helpful and accurate reporting to senior leaders and/or governance boards. • Actively manage change and governance for projects, taking all cross-project impacts into account. • Communicate consistently across internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages to ensure that it is right for the audience and consistent with broader project/digital messaging. • Experience of working alongside security architects and risk managers to assure data security governance. Nice to Haves • Demonstrate they have worked in regulated and controlled government environments - explain and give examples of governance structures and adherence to such. • Manage integration and co-ordination with other delivery teams and departmental governance. • Working within a large programme and liaising with a Programme Management Office. Work Location Your primary location will be at one of our Northwest-based Digital Hubs of Manchester, Blackpool or Sheffield. The specialist will work 5 days per week and will be online between 9am and 5pm. The programme team work across the Manchester, Blackpool and Sheffield offices and there will be occasional meetings where you'll be required to attend meetings at these offices." Security Clearance All suppliers must BPSS cleared and On-Shore. Additional T&Cs All travel expenses must be pre-agreed between the parties and must comply with the DWP Travel and Subsistence Policy. DWP have recently reviewed its Security Supplier Assurance process and requirements and have made the applicable changes in line with industry good practice. These changes will include but are not limited to: Updated ‘Security Schedule’. Replacement of ‘Security Management Plans’ with the completion of the ‘Information Security Questionnaire’ as part of the tender submission. Compliance with the DWP’s relevant policies and standards, found at gov.uk. Compliance to industry good practice such as ‘ISO27001’ and certification to ‘Cyber Essentials’. No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria • With flexible working and the team is dispersed it is important that the specialist is able to work independently yet still build effective working relationships. • Work will in a team and provide support to other team members. • Proactively supporting other teams that are dependent on your deliverables. • Willing share experience and knowledge with the team, as well as being supported by Subject Matter Experts. • Be collaborative and transparent when making decisions and owning decisions through to conclusion. • Take responsibility for own work and work with others to deliver larger outcomes.
