Tender description

The Department for Education is seeking a lead provider or consortia or similar entity to deliver Science CPD from 2024. Potential Suppliers are invited to attend our Market Engagement Event. Please register your interest here: The purpose of the event is to share our thoughts and seek the input and expertise from the sector, to help develop our requirements for the Science CPD Programme. Description of the procurement: In order to deliver the required pipeline of students performing well in science that the economy needs, key challenges facing science education need to be addressed. These are: a need to improve exam performance, particularly amongst disadvantaged students; a need to increase the number of students studying science subjects post-16, particularly the number of students from under-represented groups and the need to increase the confidence of teachers teaching primary science. The Department is looking to make progress against these challenges through the provision of a high quality CPD programme that delivers support to science teachers. In particular, the Department is looking for CPD that supports a knowledge-rich curriculum in the sciences from primary level to post-16.
