Tender description

The CRU, with the consent of the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, directed EirGrid under Regulation 28(10) of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015, in its capacity as the Transmission System Operator, to secure the delivery of c. 450MW of emergency temporary generation. In fulfilment of that direction, EirGrid, through a wholly owned special purpose vehicle (EirGrid SPV 2022 Designated Activity Company) has procured from the market electricity generation plant for the purpose of subsequent transfer of that plant to one or more electricity generators in accordance with the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022. Lot 1: Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - circa 260MW at Shannonbridge The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. The SPV in this contract is purchasing circa 260 MW of generation equipment from an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Lot 2: Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - circa 150MW at Tarbert The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. The SPV in this contract is purchasing circa 150 MW of generation equipment from an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Lot 3: Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - Balance of Plant Related to Shannonbridge The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. In this contract the SPV is purchasing balance of plant (equipment) from the OEM linked to the supply of plant at Lot No, 1, Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - circa 260MW at Shannonbridge above. Lot 4: Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - Balance of Plant Related to Tarbert The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. In this contract the SPV is purchasing balance of plant (equipment) from the OEM linked to the supply of plant at Lot No. 2, Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation Plant - circa 150MW at Tarbert above.
