Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation - 450MW

Tender description

The CRU, with the consent of the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, directed EirGrid under Regulation 28(10) of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015, in its capacity as the Transmission System Operator, to secure the delivery of c. 450MW of emergency temporary generation. In fulfilment of that direction, EirGrid, through a wholly owned special purpose vehicle (EirGrid SPV 2022 DAC) has procured from the market via tender ENQEIR803 - Requirement for Temporary Emergency Generation - 450MW electricity generation plant for the purpose of subsequent transfer of that plant to one or more electricity generators in accordance with the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022. The present procurement relates to the appointment by EirGrid of the equipment supplier to conduct design preparation works in order to preserve critical path lead times. Lot 1: Preliminary Design for The Sale of Electricity Generation Equipment Shannonbridge The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. EirGrid under this agreement is engaging GE to conduct the design preparation works for Shannonbridge in order to preserve critical path lead times. Lot 2: Preliminary Design for The Sale of Electricity Generation Equipment Tarbert The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 49 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. EirGrid under this agreement is engaging GE to conduct the design preparation works for Tarbert in order to preserve critical path lead times.
