Supply of Additive Solutions for the Suspension of Blood Products

Tender description

NHSBT uses Platelet Additive Solution (PAS) for the suspension and storage of pooled platelets, and Saline Adenine Glucose Mannitol (SAGM) solution in the manufacture and storage of washed red cells.<br/><br/>The framework agreement was awarded to MacoParma after an OJEU open tender exercise on behalf of selected beneficiaries (blood services from the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand). Lot 1: This Framework Agreement was let for a period of 4-years starting on 01/12/2018, and expired on 30/11/2022. Due to circumstances outside of the Authority's control, including dealing with the impact of Covid-19 and a related procurement exercise being delayed, the Authority wishes to extend this Framework Agreement by 1-Year. This extension will allow the Authority adequate time to complete the related procurement exercise, and allow sufficient time to carry out the required validation exercise for the retendering of this requirement.<br/><br/>Therefore, this VEAT notice will cover the period 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023.
