In summary, the Goods comprise: 1 Micro-X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (µ-XRF) The Chemistry Section at Forensic Science Ireland requires the supply and installation a micro-X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (µ-XRF) for the elemental analysis of a broad range of materials in terms of nature (solid, liquids, powders, thin films) and physical size (sub mg-Kg). The system offered should be modern, easy to use and be suitable for qualitative, semi-quantitative and quantitative determination of major, minor and trace elements in a wide variety of sample matrices with minimal standards across a minimum range of Na11 to U92 (or better). In addition to the above the system offered should be able to carry out (a) elemental analysis on a variety of materials found in pyrotechnic compositions, explosives, glass, paint, soil, rubber, metals, forensic trace evidence, (b) multi-element mapping and spectral mapping with point and line scan analysis, (c) glass analysis in accordance with ASTM E2926-17, (d) high resolution imaging e.g. visualisation of a fingermark by producing an elemental image.
