LEE640C TCD Supply, delivery and Installation of Two (2) Flow Cytometers

Tender description

Tenders are sought for two Flow Cytometers to enable SFI funded research at Trinity College Dublin. This document constitutes an invitation to tender for the 2 Lots detailed in subsequent sections of this tender document. While the tender specification has been prepared in 2 individual lots, tenderers are invited to provide submissions for any or all of these Lots. The provision of an expanded and upgraded Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core within both the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute (TTMI) and the Trinity Biosciences Institute (TBSI) will enable clinical and basic scientists and new industrial partners whose agendas are synergistic to work together to generate multiplier effects, and deliver results that far outstrip what the individual entities would deliver on their own. The core can offer a unique educational opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate students and clinicians in specialist training. It will serve as a hub across many thematic priorities in TCD including Ageing; where biomarkers from the TILDA longitudinal cohort will be interrogated, Cancer; where the significance of stem cells, circulating tumour cells and the role of inflammation, the immune system in promoting metastasis and as a vehicle for therapeutic intervention may be explored in clinical samples; it will service nanomedicine, nanoscience and genomics of human disease, all the while underpinning excellence in research and education. The criteria address a low maintenance, robust flow cytometer that produces minimal waste in line with the Provost’s sustainability initiatives.
