SHARED ISLAND Cork Belfast Harbour Cities Climate Action – Solar PV study

Cork City Council and Belfast City Council have been awarded funding as part of the Share Island fund, administered by the Department of Housing in the Republic of Ireland. Information on the goals and objectives of the Shared Island fund is available here - gov.ie - Shared Island (www.gov.ie) In partnership, Cork City Council and Belfast City Council have identified a suitable project, that is being tendered here, which will be conducted in both locations at the same time. The project will aim to significantly advance the aim of developing a scalable rooftop solar programme for both cities, by completing key deliverables that will allow both Local Authorities to progress the solar programme by proceeding to apply for funding for phase 2 of the plan. The intended outcome is a document that supports the preparation of a further detailed funding application, and in addition, the document should include the provision of assessment of five buildings to facilitate ‘shovel ready’ projects for the addition of solar PV.
