Tender for the Provision of Hardware Security Modules at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT)

Tender description

WIT seeks to create a ‘Quantum Security Testbed’, which will consist of multiple banking grade security systems leveraging Quantum Technologies that Industry can utilise and manipulate to create novel identity and data protection solutions. These include Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs), Firewalls with VPN capabilities (encryptors), Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems. This tender will address the Hardware Security Modules. The HSMs will need to intagrate with the existing ‘Quantum Security Testbed’ components, primarily: • Quantis QRNGs – from ID Quantique • Clavis3 QKD Platform – from ID Quantique The HSMs should ensure that the QRNG/QKD keys remain centrally and securely stored, free from rogue administrators and hackers, via intagrted API calls. The HSMs should be scalable and FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified, tamper resistant, network-attached appliances. The proposed contract relates to the supply of 2 HSMs. Additional quantities and features will be required up to the value of €200,000 ex-vat over 3 years. In addition to the initial one off purchase WIT reserves the right to drawdown additional quantities on top of the initial numbers required from this competition up to the Value of €200,000 Ex-Vat. Details of the drawdown method and Qtys will be arranged with the contracting authority.
