<p>Carlisle City Council is the lead authority of a Cumbrian consortium of District Councils and has been awarded &pound;19,955,000 from the Government&rsquo;s BEIS Sustainable Warmth Competition. The purpose of the scheme is to address fuel poverty, improve energy efficiency and carbon savings and help boost the local economy to retrofit a target of 1,310, mainly private sector homes, with energy efficiency measures, including low-carbon heating across Cumbria.
