<p>Carlisle City Council is the lead authority of a Cumbrian consortium of District Councils and has been awarded £19,955,000 from the Government’s BEIS Sustainable Warmth Competition. The purpose of the scheme is to address fuel poverty, improve energy efficiency and carbon savings and help boost the local economy to retrofit a target of 1,310, mainly private sector homes, with energy efficiency measures, including low-carbon heating across Cumbria.
