Tender description

Develop public realm improvement proposals (RIBA stages 2 to 4) for Hainault Road open space that provide a new layout and incorporate new green infrastructure and ground surface materials. Key design principles in developing the scheme include: • Greening proposals that enhance local bio-diversity and mitigate the impact of local air pollution • Introducing sustainable urban draining systems (SuDS) • Providing a low-maintenance, drought tolerant planting palette • Delivering an environment that creates a contextual fit and improves the local streetscape. • Consider orientation, wayfinding and place-making tools. It is proposed the design program is delivered in two phases: 1. Preliminary design (RIBA stage 2-3) 2. Technical design, the production of information for tender purposes (RIBA stage 4) Each stage to include a formal Information Exchange with the review and sign-off of works by the client.
