The British Library is the national library of the UK, with a collection exceeding 150 million items from every part of the world in virtually all know languages and formats, both print and digital, The British Library serves business and industry, researchers, academics and students, in the UK and world-wide. (For more information see http://www.bl.uk) With The National Audit Office (NAO) responsible for auditing The British Library accounts, we have an experienced Audit Committee committed to ensuring that The British Library is compliant with current rules and legislation. The purview of the committee also includes preparation of the Library's financial accounts and its systems management control and internal audit, along with ensuring that the Library is able to maximize its VAT and Corporation Tax position. To assist the Finance team in supporting the committee, The British Library is currently seeking an external service provider that can provide ad-hoc support and expert advice, whilst adhering to the legislative framework and the underlying principles on which they are based.
