Permission is sought to fund More Life to train our staff and provide resources to deliver a Tier Two Weight Management Programme.. The Tier Two Weigh Management Programme is funded via OHD ( Previously Public Health England) and they have recommended the company. The reasons for this is that they are the only company to deliver an evidence based programme. They are attached to a university and the programme is continually updated via research. Also we are in a position where we don’t have the time to go out to procurement as the deadline for delivery against the grant is extremely tight and we need to have staff trained and commence service delivery asap. We were under the impression from previous correspondence that public health were taking this forward but have now found out this isn’t the case which puts us in the position of having to act fast or we will lose the funding as we won’t be able to deliver against the grant conditions. If permission isn’t granted this would result in us needing to cease the programme and return the grant to OHID . Obesity of young people is an issue across the city and the programme aims to work with families closely to reduce this. If we have to withdraw the programme , then the service would not be available to families The cost of the programme and the resources to support continued delivery is £21,275. All costs will be funded via the grant from OHID
