Tender description
In order for a partnership to effectively produce evidence-based recommendations about how to address the needs identified within a Strategic Needs Assessment and to appropriately inform evidence based commissioning, we must understand the full range of services that are commissioned. As such, the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit want a tool that provides accurate and contemporary coverage of the services commissioned by the Combined Authority and our partner organisations, with potential for future expansion for other services available within West Yorkshire. Prior to the development of any tool it is essential to engage widely with partners (decision makers and commissioners), practitioners and service users (e.g. young people who want to understand the provision available in their area) across West Yorkshire to identify the core functions the concept should provide. This could include: • What provisions and services should be included? (e.g. sports clubs, mental health provision) • What criteria should be captured about each provision? (e.g. access routes, location, referral methods) • How data on services should be kept up to date and relevant for service users, including how new services should be added and removed, to ensure longevity and sustainability of the tool. • How should the tool be made accessible and user-friendly for all users and contributors? • What challenges and barriers could exist to the effective implementation and maintenance of this tool? What are potential solutions to these? • Are there any examples of ‘what works’ that can be drawn upon to support the development. Through this scoping and consultation, the overall outcome will be to achieve an understanding of the content and functionality required in the development of a suitable provision responding to partnership needs.
