The Youth Justice Agency (YJA) is an executive agency of the Northern Ireland Office, and came into existence on 1st April 2003. The Youth Justice Agency's Mission Statement is, "Our aim is to reduce youth crime and build confidence in the youth justice system". The Agency delivers services across three operational directorates – Community Services, Youth Conference Service and Custodial Services. The Youth Justice Agency delivers support, supervision and interventions to approximately 1800 young people each year who are aged between 10 and 18. Young people have been involved in offending behaviour and referred from either the Public Prosecution Service or Youth Court. YJA operate throughout Northern Ireland out of eight main areas: North Belfast, Central Belfast, Lisburn, Ballymena, Foyle, Newtownards, Banbridge and Omagh. Interventions and programmes are delivered by our Youth Justice Services staff teams. However in order to enhance service provision and to promote community involvement, YJA are seeking applications from organisations/individuals for the following five services, which are divided into Lots: Lot 1. Delivery of Programmes to Develop Social Capital Lot 2. Provision of Placements for Service in the Community or Reparative Opportunities Lot 3. Early Intervention and Prevention Services Lot 4. Intensive Mentoring Schemes Lot 5. Adventure Learning Services Each Lot is sub-divided into regions, and tenderers are invited to bid for one or more region within one or more Lot.
