WT1298 - Comparison of private water supply and public water supply ultraviolet (UV) systems To support the implementation of drinking water regulations for public and private supplies, the aims of this project are: To investigate the range of ultra violet (UV) devices used for public and private water supply disinfection and to determine the principal and critical differences, if any, in the application of this technology. To summarise how the use of UV technologies in drinking water supplies is regulated in other countries. To produce a simple self-help leaflet for private supply householders needing to select a suitable UV system. To produce a simple guide to enable regulators to assess whether a UV system already installed on a private supply is suitable.
