Tender description

The Laundry at Altnagelvin has an existing heat recovery unit installed approx. 18 years ago. However the heat recovery unit is no longer in operation and shall be replaced by the current model. The Project is for the removal and disposal of the existing heat recovery unit and supply, installation and commissioning of a replacement heat recovery unit. A new hot well is to be constructed within the existing drainage channel by construction of 2 concrete impermeable walls. The replacement heat recovery unit shall be installed and all pipe work to existing unit shall be replaced. The project will also include for the installation of an LPA system at the existing chillers at the Nucleus area of Altnagelvin. The system will comprise of two pumps on the 2 existing carrier chillers, inverter drives for the condenser fans, insulation of refrigeration pipe work between the chillers and condenser fans and a full central monitoring system to check overall system performance and report on energy savings. The contractor shall include for the removal and disposal of all existing redundant plant. The contract will include for all alterations to existing services to accommodate the complete project. The contractor will also ensure there is minimum disruption to the end user. The project will also include for the upgrade of pipe work insulation on specified heating and steam pipe work within the existing service tunnels at the Altnagelvin Hospital site.
