WHSCT - DESIGN TEAM APPOINTMENT - T&F HOSPITAL BUILDING FABRIC UPGRADE

Tender description

The WHSCT are seeking to appoint a design team for proposed upgrade of the building fabric on the former Great Hall, Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital, Omagh. The hall is currently used to store Trust records and the fabric of this hall has suffered significant deterioration with the roof leaking and roof structure requiring replacement to ensure the building remains weather proof and records are protected. Location of Works; Great Hall, Tyrone & Fermanagh Hospital main building. The works consist of general repairs to the building fabric and will include the replacement of the roof covering, insulation upgrade, replacement rain water goods and window replacement. The works must be designed and phased in such a way as to cause the minimum amount of disruption to the service & the overall hospital site. The Tyrone & Fermanagh Hospital main building was constructed circa 1850 and is currently “Listed” by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. Details can be found on the NIEA website. The WHSCT confirm that the following consultants will be required to form part of the design team; Lead Consultant, Building Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Quantity Surveyor and CDM coordinator. Schedules of duties for these consultants will be included in the ITT. It is anticipated that the lead consultant (contract administrator) will be the Building Surveyor. The contract period (for consultant services) is 10 months, June 2015 – March 2016, not including the defects liability period.
