WHSCT - DESIGN TEAM APPOINTMENT FOR PSI CATH LAB PHASE II

Tender description

The HSC Trust are seeking to appoint a design team for Phase 2 of the Cath Lab refurbishment works; which will provide support areas to the recently completed Cath Lab. The minor alterations are on the same floor level as the Cath Lab (Ward 44 South Block) and they consist of works in a number of areas including: • Convert existing WC to viewing room • Convert existing locker room to monitoring room • Minor alteration to other rooms and corridor • Works to nurses station Ward 44 is positioned within the main acute hospital at Altnagelvin, the ward will be occupied & must remain fully functional throughout the works. The works must be designed and phased in such a way as to cause the minimum amount of disruption to the ward, adjacent wards, support services & the overall hospital site. The works are to be completed and handed over before the end of the current financial year, 31st March 2015. The WHSCT confirm that the following consultants will be required to form part of the design team; Lead Consultant, Architect, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Quantity Surveyor and CDM coordinator. Schedules of duties for these consultants will be included in ITT. It is anticipated that the lead consultant (contract administrator) will be the architect. The contract period (for consultant services) is 7 months, September 2014 – March 2015, not including the defects liability period.
