WHSCT - DESIGN TEAM APPOINTMENT FOR 2014-2015 FIRECODE WORKS (ELECTRICAL)

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of consultant services as follows: The WHSCT are seeking to appoint a design team for the proposed Firecode Works 2014 - 2015 (Electrical Works). Works are situated at locations across Western HSC Trust. Works include:  Installation of swing free door closers linked to fire alarm on bedroom doors in Care Homes (including Beechlea, Woodlands, Beltany House and Clare House).  Replace fire alarm system in main Laundry, Altnagelvin.  Reduce no. of detectors in T&F main block (excessive unwanted fire alarms). The works are primarily aimed at:  Installing swing free door closers (interfaced with fire alarm panels) in Care Homes  Removing existing and installing new fully addressable fire alarm and detection system in Laundry, Altnagelvin  Reconfiguring existing fire alarm system in T&F Main Block – to reduce number of smoke detectors. The works will be carried out in a live, healthcare environment. Works must be designed and phased in such a way as to cause the minimum amount of disruption to the service. It is anticipated that works will only include very minor building services. The works are to be completed and handed over before the end of the current financial year, 31st March 2015. The WHSCT confirm that the following consultants will be required to form part of the design team; Lead Consultant, Electrical Engineer Quantity Surveyor and CDM coordinator. Schedules of duties for these consultants will be included in ITT. It is anticipated that the lead consultant (contract administrator) will be the Electrical Engineer. The contract period (for consultant services) is 8 months, August 2014 – March 2015, not including the defects liability period.
