Tender description

Waste Non Hazardous Healthcare - Collection and Disposal Service for Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. The Health Board is currently implementing systems to ensure compliance with the Hazardous Waste regulations 2005 (Amended 2009). These regulations require the separate treatment of non infectious/non hazardous materials from these waste streams. In recognition of the Welsh Government policy 'Towards Zero Waste' (which requires an increase of recycling levels to 70% by 2025), the Health Board is seeking a service provider to assist with the management of a range of non hazardous waste streams. This will involve the collection, handling and disposal of the following waste streams in the most economic and environmentally friendly way: 1. Residual non hazardous waste 2. Dry Mixed recycling waste 3. Food waste
