Tender description
Defra has a medium to longer term growth ambition (over the next few years), to boost the underlying rate of growth in the UK sectors it has responsibility for. This research project could therefore play an important role in contributing to this ambition. This research project will therefore provide: i) a literature review that sets out the policy context and current status of the forestry and other plants sectors (focussing on planting material and plant/forestry health); (ii) an assessment of growth potential based on an appropriate methodology, that considers where market failures and other barriers exist; and finally (iii) recommendations for potential policy interventions or industry led responses to address any market failures/barriers and therefore potentially boost UK growth.
