Tender description

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham invites suitable bids for the provision of Travel Care and Support Services for eligible children and young people who may have special educational needs or disabilities, who primarily travel from home to school; and vulnerable adults who primarily travel from home to day care services, plus other locations as required. This procurement is comprised of two lots. Lot 1 for minibus provision and lot 2 for taxi provision. The Council is undertaking the procurement in accordance with the Open Procedure of the Public Contracts Regulations (2015). The Lot 1 published requirements as detailed in the Tender price matrix will be called off at the point of appointment to the Framework, to the highest ranking tenderer. This initial call off contract will be for a duration of 5 years, with the option to extend up to a further 2 years. Lot 2 taxi provision will be subject to call off contracts as and when required by direct award or via mini-competition available to suppliers who are appointed to the framework. The vehicles required will be to transport eligible children, young people and vulnerable adults and will include saloon cars, estate cars, multi-purpose vehicles, wheelchair accessible cars/taxis, and black cabs (Standard & Vito). Journeys may be required on a regular or ad hoc basis and mostly within the Authority boundaries and the surrounding areas, but some longer distance journeys will be required. Some services will require the provision of travel care assistants.
